John Sabl has been in the legal profession for over four decades with a broad range of experience and roles, including a corporate and securities Partner at Sidley Austin LLP, the head transactional attorney for the City of Chicago, and the General Counsel at CNO Financial, Inc.
At Sidley, John represented clients in various corporate and securities matters, including public and private securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity investments, affordable housing, other investment funds, restructurings, significant contractual matters, and corporate counseling assignments. His experience there spanned several industries, such as insurance and other financial services, affordable housing, investment management, communications and media, agribusiness, capital goods, information services, consumer products, manufacturing, and real estate.

Before JMIN
Before joining JMIN, John served as senior of counsel at Innovators Legal of Atlanta and the General Counsel for Anzu Partners. Prior to that, he was the Managing Deputy of Transactions and Deputy–Aviation, Environmental, Regulatory, and Contracts for the City of Chicago Law Department. John supervised attorneys handling various financing, contractual, real estate, and other transactional matters for the City of Chicago, including its airports. At CNO, he served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel, handling various transactional, counseling, and government relations matters.
