Lynn McMiller is a meticulously organized, hyper-diligent, and vastly experienced paralegal focused on IP law-related matters. Lynn works tirelessly with the firm’s attorneys in all areas of patent prosecution, including new application filings in the U.S. Patent Office (such as utilities, provisionals, and national stage entries) and also arranging for foreign application filings including the authorization of convention, PCT, and national stage entry filings, and arranging for translations. She also assists with prosecuting applications by preparing formal documents and shell responses, reporting and filing responses to U.S. formality and Office Action Notices, PCT Article 19 amendments, Demands, and Responses to Defects invitations; and reporting/sending/receiving instructions for foreign patent application matters.

Lynn uses online web portals for IP prosecution, including ePCT, Patentcenter, and USPTO PAIR and EFS web, and stays up-to-date on online portal changes, notifying the team when necessary. Moreover, Lynn researches U.S. and foreign patent rule changes and communicates them to the team as needed.

Lynn enjoys working in IP law because it fits her personality and natural propensity for perfectionism. Although Lynn works mostly on biotech and chemical arts patents, she began her paralegal career in the electrical and mechanical space, giving her a well-rounded viewpoint across a wide variety of science and technology endeavors. Committed to doing her best on every matter in which she is involved, Lynn is dedicated to serving as the ultimate team player and efficiency expert who not only provides excellent work product quickly but also gets along with everybody. It is no surprise that Lynn began her career as a quality manager and now focuses her inherent TQM sensibilities on precision IP law support.
